Mort and Melman are a bonded pair of male chinchillas, about 5 years old.  They are considered special needs because Mort has a permanent head tilt. It doesn't require meds as it is likely from a past ear infection, but it might make it difficult for him to groom himself because he gets matted fur.  The vet recommends a combination of frequent dust baths and occasional brushing/plucking of the mats to ensure they don't get out of hand.  
  Melman has some dry skin and funky-looking eyes but the vet says this can be normal with lighter colored breeds of chinchillas.
